Sligo County Council is the Lead Partner in the Sligo Peace & Reconciliation Partnership Committee and secretariat support is provided to the Partnership by the Office of Community and Enterprise.
Through a process of extensive public consultation, the Sligo Peace & Reconciliation Partnership Committee developed a Peace & Reconciliation Action Plan for Sligo (2008 – 2010). This plan was submitted to the SEUPB for approval and funding up to €1.9 million was approved in November 2008

In keeping with the ethos of the Peace III Programme and to ensure that the perspectives of programme ‘target’ groups were represented on the partnership committee it was agreed that membership be extended under the umbrella of the Community Forum.
