In February 2008 Sligo County Development Board established as a sub-committee Sligo Peace & Reconciliation Partnership Committee.

Sligo County Council is the Lead Partner in the Sligo Peace & Reconciliation Partnership Committee and secretariat support is provided to the Partnership by the Office of Community and Enterprise.

Through a process of extensive public consultation, the Sligo Peace & Reconciliation Partnership Committee developed a Peace & Reconciliation Action Plan for Sligo (2008 – 2010).  This plan was submitted to the SEUPB for approval and funding up to €1.9 million was approved in November 2008
